Real estate development services with a uniquely sustainable “green” focus have come to the Cayman Islands.
NEXT Development Group, a local real estate development and property services company, provides local and regional consumers with cutting edge property solutions.
In partnership with GreenTech, the Caribbean’s leading green building services company, NEXT designs, develops, sells and manages LEED residential and commercial properties.
These properties minimise environmental impact, offer superior value for money and a higher return on investment over traditionally-built properties.
They also create healthier living and working environments and are vastly more energy-efficient than traditional buildings, using a fraction of the energy and costs to maintain and operate.
“We started this company to take sustainable property development to the next level,” says Ryan Ostendorf, sales and marketing manager for NEXT.
“We believe consumers want to live in a home and/or work in a building that is extremely energy efficient, has superior indoor air quality and health benefits while minimising its impact on the environment and becoming a space where you truly want to live or work every day.
“Our goal is to make the process of building your dream home or cutting edge commercial property as efficient, worry-free and enjoyable as possible. We offer a combination of unique services and a high level of customer care that just isn’t available anywhere else.”
The company’s website NextDevelopment.com outlines the services offered and the benefits of their unique approach to real estate to achieve the company’s goal of building a better Cayman Islands today and in the future.
“As a multi-generational Caymanian and father of two Caymanian children, it’s very important to me that we, as a country, learn to build and live smarter and better, not just for our own financial well-being today but also for the environment we intend to leave for our children tomorrow,” says James Whittaker, founder and principal of NEXT. “Along with our other affiliated green building companies like GreenTech, we expect NEXT to provide environmentally positive, conceptually different and economically exciting projects to the built environment here in Cayman and eventually throughout the Caribbean.”
James has spent years assembling a diverse and capable management team with the right vision, experience and qualifications to deliver on the company’s ethos of building a better Cayman.
A native Caymanian with over 15 years’ experience in the financial sector, he has held various senior management roles locally and abroad.
Three years ago he founded one of only four companies in the world offering LEED for Homes internationally and the only such company in the Caribbean region.
James also developed the world’s first internationally LEED-certified home and was successful in having the Cayman Islands recognised as one of only four countries in the world accepted in the International LEED for Homes programme.
Ryan, formally of the Dart Development team, comes to Cayman from the mid-west United States.
After working on development projects all over the world, he has the unique ability of overseeing a project from the initial vision through conception and then guiding it through to the finished product.
The final piece of the puzzle comes from the creative mind of NEXT’s lead designer J. Stace Mcgee.
One of most experienced LEED and green building experts in North America and one of the few LEED Faculty and Quality Assurance Designee members in the world, Stace is an architect by trade and possesses a wealth of knowledge in all facets of green building and design.
