Beach training

Back to Main Story:

A dog’s best friend

Every Sunday morning, Kenneth holds classes to teach volunteers and dogs from the Humane Society’s animal shelter the basics in training.

The hour-long classes are held at the public beach by Calico Jack’s bar, except on the last Sunday of each month when the group meets at the great lawn of the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.

The training helps the dogs transition into their new home once they are adopted. The animals graduate after six to eight classes or when adopted.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is a sponsor of the monthly event, providing refreshments and dainties for the group.

Hotel guests are also invited to take part, with dogs brought from the shelter if anybody wants to participate in this worthwhile cause.

There is no fee to take part but donations to the Humane Society are always gratefully accepted.
